Carl Gilbert, 89, of Kenosha passed away on April 16, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born on November 24, 1936, in Jewett, OH, the son of the late Charles and Bertha (Slentz) Gilbert. He grew up in and was educated in the schools of Hopedale, OH. Carl married Vera Pasco on October 18, 1956, in Richmond, IN. He worked for Snap-on Tools in the heat treat department for many years. Carl attended Kenosha Family Church. His hobbies included woodworking, he was a self-taught carpenter, raised chinchillas and loved telling jokes (We all know he had “dropsy and heart trouble”!). More than anything, he loved doting on his wife, Vera.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Gilbert of Kenosha; children, Carlene Polzin of Burlington, Barbara Pasco of Kenosha, Bruce Gilbert of Kenosha, Verna (John) Griffin of Kenosha, Amy Regina of Kenosha, Alice Conradt of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Chuck Gilbert of Muscle Shoals, AL, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild with 2 more on the way. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Donna; sister, Evelyn; brothers, Harold, Ralph and David and his grandson, Zachary Pasco.

A memorial gathering will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM with memorial services to follow immediately at 5:00 PM.
