Cephus C. Norwood Sr.

1942-2023

Cephus C. Norwood Sr., 81, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Cephus was born on September 19, 1942, in Alden, AL, the son of the late Walter & Willie Frank (Cooper) Norwood. He was educated in the schools of AL, WV, OH and WI. Graduating from Gateway Tech in Kenosha. Cephus was a member of the US Army, US Air Force and the Army  National Guard. He married Linda Gardner Bennett on December 17, 1990, in Waukegan. Cephus was employed as a skilled trades worker for many years, working at AMC/Chrysler, Ladish and Zion Nuclear Power Plant. He was a member of Deliverance Crusaders Church of Racine. His hobbies included sudoku, playing chess, reading the newspaper, doing crosswords, coin collecting, photography, gardening & taking care of his yard, but most of all spending time with his family & friends.

Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Bennett-Norwood; children, Tamara Norwood of TX, Gregory Bennett Jr. of Kenosha; brother, Ron Collins of GA; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Cephus was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip, William, and Walter Jr. and his son's Cephus Norwood Jr. and Obadiah Bennett Jr.

A visitation will be  held on Friday October 20, 2023, at Kenosha Funeral Services at  10:00AM with the  funeral services to follow immediately at 11:00AM. Burial we be at Sunset Ridge memorial Park.
