Donald L. DeLaney

1946-2026

Donald (Don) DeLaney, 79, of Somers, WI passed away on March 12, 2026.

Don was born October 10, 1946, in Kenosha, the son of the late Norman J. and June (Russell) DeLaney Sr. He attended local schools and was a 1964 graduate of Bradford High School.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served two tours in Vietnam and remained dedicated to his fellow servicemen as a long-time supporter of VFW Post #7308.

Don was an incredible and proud tool & die maker who worked for many companies over the years, eventually retiring from InSinkErator in 2019. He loved making something out of nothing – especially a blank piece of metal.

One of his greatest achievements was graduating from the prestigious Colorado School of Trades in 1979, a testament to his dedication and skill.

His hobbies included competition and recreational trap shooting, hunting, ice fishing and reading. An ardent animal lover, he held a special place in his heart for his cats. Most of all he loved riding and taking trips on his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Survivors include his nephews, Norman (Kim) DeLaney III of Kenosha, WI and Brandon DeLaney of Burlington, WI, great-nephew Cadin DeLaney and great-niece Katti Carlton. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Norman J. DeLaney Jr.
