Donald Schrandt, 91, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on May 8, 2021 at his home after a long illness.
Donald was born on November 11, 1929 in Ponsford, MN, the son of the late Herman Schrandt and Veronica (Norbert) Lorsung. He was educated in the schools of MN. Donald married Lorraine Teich on September 22, 1951 in Baltimore MD. He was a member of the U.S. Army which he served in the Korean War. Donald was employed at American Brass Company (Outokumpu American Brass) for over 40 years where he retired. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, woodworking, was a fan of the Packers, Nascar and the Brewers, but really any sports would do. He loved spending time in Crivitz, WI doing just about anything outdoors but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Schrandt of Pleasant Prairie; children, Thomas (Leki) Schrandt of Shawno, WI, Richard (Kimber) Schrandt of Kenosha, Donna (Richard) Wick of TX, David Schrandt of WI, Daniel (Rhonda) Schrandt of Kenosha. Brothers, Paul Schrandt, James Schrandt, Robert (Margaret) Schrandt, Leonard (Doreen) Schrandt. 12 grandchildren, Robert, Richard, Ryan, Phillip, Allan, Eric, Kristy, Kelly, Jill, David, Cory, and Chris; 11 great grandchildren; also survived by many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather; son, Douglas Schrandt; brothers, Leroy and Thomas Schrandt; sister, Virginia Schrandt; and a grandson, Peter Schrandt.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his aid Vicki, as well as the Hospice nurses and staff Cindy, Betty, Elaine, Chaplin Charlie and Pat for all their support during this very difficult time.
A memorial gathering will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on June 12, 2021 from 11:00-12:00PM with memorial services to follow immediately at 12:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Hospice Alliance of Kenosha would be greatly appreciated.
Due to COVID-19, facemasks are required in the funeral home.
