Dorothy M. Stoyer
1933–2026
Dorothy Stoyer, 92, formerly of Kenosha and later a resident of Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at Kenosha Place Senior Living.
Dorothy was born on August 15, 1933, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Chromcik) Smolinski. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Dorothy married Earl A. Stoyer on December 22, 1951, in Kenosha. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, antiquing, sewing, and traveling, but most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Dorothy and her husband raised their family in Kenosha, where they created a home filled with love and countless cherished memories. They especially treasured time spent with their children and grandchildren, and family gatherings were always among Dorothy’s greatest joys.
Later in life, they embraced winters in Arizona as snowbirds, eventually making it their permanent home. There, Dorothy and Earl built many lasting friendships and enjoyed an active social life, participating in a variety of activities and making the most of every day. Whether surrounded by family or friends, Dorothy had a gift for bringing people together and creating lasting memories.
Survivors include her children, Earl S. (Kathy) Stoyer of Texas, Claudia (Danny) Nickerson of Arizona, Anita (Robert) Reuter of Vermont, and Toby (Becky) Stoyer of Kenosha; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Earl; her sister, Mary Ellen Jewell; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Dorothy will be placed alongside her beloved husband, Earl, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
