Frances G. Bastman

1936-2023

Frances (Gwen) Bastman 87 of Kenosha passed away on September 21, 2023 at Lakeland Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born on July 25, 1936 in Stanton, TN. The daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie (Chaney) Hawkins. She was educated in the schools of TN. Frances married (1956) and had three children with James Schroeder. Later in life she married Don Bastman. She was employed at Kenosha Unified School District for many years. Her hobbies included counted cross stitching, reading, cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her brother Joseph (Patricia) Hawkins of Pleasant Prairie, sister Yvonne Hawkins of Wyoming along with many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Leek, daughter Ellen, sons David, Eric, his wife June and husbands James Schroeder & Don Bastman.

A visitation will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 11:00AM-1:00PM with funeral services to follow immediately at 1:00PM. There will be a short service and luncheon to follow at The Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery, 4300 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, WI 53144.
