Gerald D. Sutherland

1935-2024

Gerald Sutherland, 88, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on March 25, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center of Kenosha.

Gerald was born on November 26, 1935, in Dyer, TN, the son of the late Earl and June Pierce  formerly Clara Bell (Overby) Sutherland. He was educated in the schools of Waukegan and Chicago schools. Gerald married Reta Tarnowske on December 31, 1958, in Waukegan. He was a print press operator for Munders Company for many years. Gerald was a member of the United States Army serving as a paratrooper. His hobbies included metal detecting, gun shooting, coin collecting, telling stories, flirting with the ladies but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Charlene Wienke of Arpin, Connie (Robert) Constantine of Kenosha, Angela Sutherland of Wisconsin Rapids; brother, Wallace Sutherland of Beach Park, IL; also included are his 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grand-daughter, Ashley and his brother, Jerry.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
