Rebecca Lou
Togliatti
December 27, 1949 – April 27, 2022
Rebecca Lou Togliatti
1949-2022
Rebecca (Becky), 72, of Caledonia, WI died on April 27, 2022 at Aurora medical center of Kenosha surrounded by loved ones.
Becky was born on December 27, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona, the second daughter and third child of the late Arthur (Bart) and Helen (Anderson) Shank. She later became "the funny big sis" to three more sisters. After several years in Iowa, the family moved to Chicago where Becky graduated from Morgan Park High School. At MPHS, Becky was a beautiful and vivacious cheerleader and made many lifelong friends. She attended Eastern Illinois University.
Rebecca spent her career serving senior citizens, working with "her old people" as a Nursing Home Administrator and later as CEO of Rehab Tech, a company devoted to providing home health care supplies for elderly and disabled people. After leaving Rehab Tech, Becky turned her entrepreneurial skills to a company providing other vital services for seniors, Caring Transitions of Southwest Wisconsin, where she devoted her many skills to assisting seniors with relocation and downsizing services. Becky always loved being and working with older people and nothing made her happier than telling a joke that made them laugh, playing cards with her "old ladies" , flirting with her "old guys" or repositioning their pillows and easing their pain.
Becky loved Wisconsin and especially loved her home with view of her beloved Lake Michigan, which she called Lake Beckster. She could sit for hours and stare at the lake, watching the birds (especially the cardinals) in the adjacent woods and enjoying the sun on her quiet deck. Her garden was enlivened with sculpture from all over the country and her home was her own art gallery. She loved, loved to shop and especially loved to shop for art.
Becky also loved to travel especially to the highlight of her life, Saint Maarten, and to Seattle, Washington to visit her niece and to Sosua, Dominican Republic.
Becky leaves behind many people she loved and by whom she was loved including her brother, Thomas Shank of Federal Way, Washington; sisters and their husbands, Lynette and Barry Jordan of Mukwonago Wisconsin, Kathleen and John Mcallen of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Virginia Anderson of Seattle Washington. She is also leaving her family of friends: Mike Ludwig and David Corban of Racine, Michele Dages of West Bloomfield, Michigan and John Gyann of Florida. She will be especially missed by her nieces Maile Anderson, Stefanie Shank, Erin Winders, Lauren Sloat, Alicia Jordan Briley, Wendy Shank Thomas, Judy Johnson, Sarah Joy Sims, and Laura Sims, as well as her nephews, Scotty Mcallen and David Meyer III. She also leaves behind a well loved Uncle Bruce and Mary Bendull and Aunt Betty Dowdal.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Bart and Helen, and her beloved sister Maureen Sims. She is forever grateful for her favorite person in the whole world, her adored and adoring Grandma Catherine Pfeiffer.
