Wendy Hanson

1956-2024

Wendy Hanson, 68, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at Froedtert -St. Catherine's surrounded by her loving family.

Wendy was born on March 15, 1956, in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of the late LaVerne & Arlene (Sackett) Ottinger. She was educated in the schools of Eau Claire. Wendy married Gene Hanson on September 16, 1972, in Eau Claire. She was a homemaker for many years, also working at Kenosha Leatherette, as a bartender, and at the DMV. Her hobbies included playing phone games, shooting darts & playing pool, cheering for the Vikings, but most of all spending time with her family & friends especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Joy Nye of ID, Jennifer (Mark) Nelson of Kenosha, Jessica (Casey) Hannaman of Kenosha; son-in-law, Mike Cicchini; brother, Bruce Ottinger of Eau Claire, Danny Ottinger of Kenosha; 15 grandchildren, Seth (Mercedes) Oelke, Alexis (Chad) Smith, Ashley, Anthony, & Alyssa Nye, Nicholas & Elizabeth Nelson; Manda (Kyle) Hannaman, Ryley Ottinger, Izabella (Douglas), & Mackenzie Beutner, Garrett, Mika, Gianna, & Gino Cicchini; great grandchildren, Kyler, Aleeha, Xander & Adley Oelke, Ryker, Reggie, & Rosella Smith, Marky Nelson, Wesley Jean Arendt, Luka & Auggie Cicchini. Wendy was preceded in death by her husband Gene, daughter Jeannie, brother Larry, and Grandson Mark Nelson III.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday November 4, 2024, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 10:00AM-12:00PM, with funeral services to follow at 12:00PM.
