William "Bill" Herbert Katt Jr.

1950-2026

William "Bill" Herbert Katt Jr., 75, of Kenosha passed away January 22nd, 2026. He will be greatly missed by those who called him friend, brother, uncle, husband, dad or "Big Fella."

Bill was born on April 6, 1950, in Racine. He graduated from Case High School, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an MBA from Marquette University. After retiring from Snap-on Tools, he worked at Rizzo & Diersen Law Firm, started his own CPA firm and most recently worked at Parrish & Freitag Accounting.

He ran track in high school, going to state multiple times. At a track meet, he met Diane Hamm who became his high school sweetheart and later wife, whom he enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage with. They enjoyed traveling and went on several trips a year, ranging from car trips to National Parks, African Safaris and a literal trip around the world. When they weren't traveling, he spent his time golfing, watching the stock market and hanging out with family and friends. He spent Thursdays playing his favorite game, Sheepshead, and loved nothing more than cards and board games. One of his newest past times was watching his step-granddaughters play softball and basketball. He adored babysitting his "grand-kitties" and his curiosity about space was never-ending.

His passion for helping people led to multiple years serving on the boards of the ELCA Outreach Center and Hospice Alliance.

Bill is survived by his wife Diane nee Hamm, son Ryan (Rachael), daughter Kendra (Mark, Emily, Addison), sister Sharon (Keith), sister-in-law Evelyn and numerous nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Sr and Rose, and brother Ron.

Memorial donations may be made to ELCA Outreach Center or Hospice Alliance.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Petrifying Springs Clubhouse from 1:00PM-4:00PM.
