Yvonne Ora Batsakis

1930-2025

Yvonne Batsakis, age 94, of Dearborn Heights, MI passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Yvonne was born on October 30, 1930, in Williamston, MI, the daughter of the late Fay and June (Fuller) Lowrie. Yvonne married her husband of 59 years, Angelo Batsakis, on December 22, 1951, and shortly thereafter they moved to Dearborn Heights, where they raised two children together. Yvonne enjoyed volunteering, was a voracious reader, and was a fervent fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions & Pistons. She traveled widely, having visited China, England, Scotland, and most of the U.S. states. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.

Yvonne's lifelong faith in the Lutheran religion was important to her, and after spending many years as a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dearborn, MI, she was pleased to recently become a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Kenosha.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Tim) Watson of Kenosha, WI, Chris (Gigi) Batsakis of Chelsea, MI; sister-in-law, Connie Lowrie of Williamston, MI; grandchildren Benjamin Watson, Lindsay (Trevor) Kindlon, Christina Picklesimer and Jennifer (Jon) Kothe; and great-grandchildren Aria, Henry, Jacob, Nathaniel, Nora, Owen and Wyatt. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Ed, Bill & Al and her sister, Helen.
