Beatrice Alice Sakowski

1926-2025

Beatrice (Grewenow) Sakowski, 99, of Kenosha passed away on January 25, 2025, at Castle Senior Living.

Beatrice was born on January 14, 1926, in Clark County, WI, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Bull) Grewenow. She was a graduate of Kenosha Bradford High School, Lutheran Deaconess Hospital (cadet coy) School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She was an active nurse until retirement in 1995. Primarily working for the Veterans Administration at Hines Medical Center in Illinois and Milwaukee Clement J. Zablocki Hospitals for 40 years specializing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. She was a member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church of West Allis, WI, the VA Retirees Alumni Club and the WPVA (Paralyzed Veteran Association). Her hobbies included arts & crafts, reading but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special extended family. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian, Esther & Mabel; brothers, George, Arthur & Herbert Grewenow and Edward Sakowski also included is her son, Stanley Paul Sakowski.

A visitation will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on February 3, 2025 from 9:30AM-10:30AM with funeral services to follow immediately at 10:30AM. Burial will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the Wisconsin Paralyzed Veterans Association would be appreciated.
