John A. Pursell

1947-2025

John Pursell, 77, of Kenosha passed away on Friday February 21, 2025, at Froedtert South-St. Catherine's surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on August 15, 1947, in Kenosha, the son of the late Virgil & Fern (Hansche) Pursell.  He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford H.S.  He was a member of the U.S. Army, serving during Vietnam.  John married Karyn Colgrove on March 17, 2007, in Kenosha.  John was a custodian for many years working at numerous KUSD schools.  His hobbies included golfing, fishing, cheering for the Packers, Brewers & Cubs, Bucks, he loved to take care of his lawn, but most of all spending time with family & friends.

Survivors include his wife, Karyn Pursell of Kenosha; children, Sean Kelly of TX, Kalyn Kelly, and Kevin Pursell both of Kenosha; grandchildren, Layonna, L'Zarion, & Makiya.  John was preceded in death by his sister, Susan.

Military Honors services will be held on Monday March 3, 2025, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00PM.
