John W.
Van Lone
January 14, 1942 – May 20, 2023
John W. Van Lone
1942-2023
After a day filled with visits from friends and family John passed away on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on January 14, 1942, John was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. The son of the late Willis Jerome and Mary Alice (Starr) Van Lone. John was educated in local schools and later became a member of the US Army. He met Dorothy von Kutzleben on a blind date and they would go on to be married on July 2, 1966 in Kenosha.
He worked at American Brass for over 30 years and later enjoyed his time working for the City of Kenosha Parks Department before his retirement.
John was a very loyal servant and dedicated witness of Jehovah, serving Jehovah was very important to him.
Some of the many things John loved were camping, riding bikes, spending time with his family, handing out paper Green Bay Packer schedules (it made you feel special to get one, even though we all had it on our phones), sometimes yelling at the TV during Packer games, burnt hamburgers, waterskiing, saying the utmost heartfelt prayers, laying out & soaking up the sunshine, telling his jokes (better than any "Dad" jokes) and attending his grandsons' events.
John was preceded in death by both his parents and his two brothers, James "Jim" and Charles "Charlie."
Left to remember John are his wife, Dorothy Van Lone of Kenosha; his daughters, Loralee Van Lone and Amy (Brian) Gastaldi, both of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Sidney Van Lone, Ivan Jake, and Ezra Gastaldi; his great grandchild, Wyatt Delaney; and the many friends (human and animal) he made everywhere he went.
A celebration of life will be held the Kingdom Hall, 7333-Green Bay Rd, Kenosha, WI 53142, on Saturday June 17, 2023 from 2:15PM-3:30PM.
