Lorraine "Laurie" Brandl

1937-2023

Lorraine Marie "Laurie" Brandl, age 86, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at her home.

Laurie was born on August 23, 1937, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the fifth and youngest child of Anton and Margaret Spaeth. She would later live in Black River, Wisconsin with her foster parents, George and Verona Thompson.

Laurie attended Bethlehem Lutheran in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and graduated from Central High School, also in Sheboygan. After moving to Kenosha, she worked at Manutronics and Frost Company.

On December 2, 1955, Laurie married Robert Brandl, Sr. The couple had five children. They later divorced.

Laurie will be missed by her three remaining children: Beverly (Maynard) McCumber, Georgene "Jean" (Chris) Carroll, and Carl Brandl; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Carlson; and life-long friend, Margaret Ladvienka.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert Brandl, Jr. and William Brandl; one great-grandson, Jerimiah Hamilton; brothers, Ernie Spaeth and Richard Spaeth; sisters, Florence Hermann and Dorothy Spaeth; Pete Mallo; and Robert Brandl, Sr.

Funeral Services will be private with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
