Rita Mae LaPoint

1921-2022

Rita LaPoint, 100, of Kenosha passed away on January 15, 2022, at Grande Prairie Health Center.

Rita was born on June 10, 1921, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of the late Herman and Laura (McClure) Worst. She was educated in the schools of North Dakota. Rita married Gerald LaPoint in Kenosha. She was a telephone operator and waitress for many years. Rita was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Yacht Club and the Emeritus Kenosha Yacht Club. She organized the annual blessing of the fleet for many years. Her hobbies included boating, being outdoors, reading but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her daughter in law, Dawn LaPoint of Bristol; granddaughter, Tina Marie; also included are many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; son, Larry; sisters, Frances Briggs, Viola Taylor, Elma Green, Alberta Wheeler, Phyliss Englund and her brother Charles Worst.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
