Robert "Bob" Michiels

1947-2024

Robert Michiels, 76, of Racine, Passed away on August 7, 2024, with his wife and daughters by his side.

Bob was born on August 25, 1947, to the late Thomas and Beatrice (Lynn) Michiels.

Bob worked as a psychotherapist for hospitalized adolescents and their families in Forest Park and Chicago, Illinois. On May 27, 1979, he married Adrienne Shea.

Bob was an avid sailor and world traveler who loved meeting people from other cultures. He was interested in their languages and their lives. He loved the food of other nations, especially India.

Bob was well loved by his wife, Adrienne, his daughters, Mia (Pete Majer) Shea-Michiels and Annalynn (Alex Corey) Shea-Michiels and granddaughters, Rowan Shea and Reese Beatrice Corey. He was close to his friends of many years and the family pets, Kane and Luka.

He will be missed by his brothers, Bill (Marcia), Dennis (Cathy) and Tom (Lisa) Michiels and his sisters, Wendy (Ed) Plvcinski, Mary Ann (Charlie) Waggoner, Janet (Jim) Friebery and Linda Michiels. His cousins, Mark (Diane) Ladner and Phil (Mary) Ladner will miss him too.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
